Take out the Old, Bring in the New

It’s the end of the first year of OutTales around the Fire and what a year it has been. The themes covered since the launch in June 2011 have included – First Time, Family, Pride, Relationships, Holding on & Letting go  and Religion & Spirituality.

I have certainly enjoyed writing stories for each of those themes, it has been releasing, healing and allowed me to finally embrace the multi-layed dimensions of myself. I have also enjoyed reading the submissions from the various contributors and have been moved by the honesty, authenticity and openness shown in each sharing.

I have received such lovely and wonderful emails from people across the globe who have talked about the delight they get from the stories shared. Some of the comments received were:

“I love love love the space that you are providing. It’s such a necessary part of life, sharing our stories, particularly for folks that are queer. There is healing and such profound transformation in that process.”

“OutTales is a wonderful site, by the way!  And it looks like you’re doing such interesting things.”

“Love the insights I am getting from the website.”

“Thanks for making this platform available.”

“I came across your blog and I think it is phenomenal. The stories are out of this world, yet they speak to a very deep and personal place within me.”

Would like to give my thanks and appreciation to the people who have contributed stories, commented on stories or simply read the stories. I’m a great fan of nostalgia, so let’s walk down memory lane with the most read OutTales since our launch:

Looking forward to our journey together in 2012. May the New Year bring wonderful adventures and more stories for us to share around the Fire.

To the team at OutTales, its been such a privilege and pleasure to be part of this campsite around the fire. I have contributed some, read lots, loved all of the fellowship here. Cheers, here’s to each and everyone around this fireplace, to love, laughter and the future of the fireplace xoxo
